Learn to Do Bavarian Crochet (Annie's Attic: Crochet) Reviews
I came across this book while searching for Irish crochet. I had never heard of Barbarian crochet so I wanted to try something different then just the straight single, double crochets that I always do. I have trouble reading the patterns but after I got my sister in law to read and show me, I got the hang of it pretty quick. Its really not that hard to do even for a beginner if you have someone who can show you. I am very happy I bought the book and wish there were move choices on Amazon.
I have been a crocheter since I was 9 years old. But I just discovered this type of crochet. Learning something like this from a book is not easy anyway, but I felt like these instructions were lacking just a bit. I'm having trouble getting my attempts at this type of crochet to come out as it looks in the picture (basically, the hole in the center to be as small as it looks in the picture). I'm just going to keep practicing and I know I'll get it eventually, but I'm not that thrilled with this book.
A couple of years ago I bought this book to figure out the Bavarian stitch. Directions very clear with step by step photos, and several project patterns included. Bought this for a friend who wants to learn this stitch.
I have been watching people on social media make blankets using this pattern, now I want to learn how to do it. I love the patterns in this book and it uses a yarn I'm familiar with as well as one easy to obtain.
I found this booklet a little hard to understand so I went to you tube and watched how to do this stitch. Love the stitch and ended up making 3 blankets using it. They are so pretty and I was amazed that I actual was about to make this. If you have been doing crochet for a long time you might understand the stitch if not then check out you tube but buy the book cause there are other items to make; like a shawl and a purse plus a baby blanket and more. Love the pictures and the book. Happy crocheting.
While looking thru Amazon.com, I came across this book and loved the pictures and knew I wanted to try it. I've been crocheting for 33 yrs and always looking for new styles to do. I'm looking forward to start a baby blanket for my grand daughter and a new grandbaby due in Nov. Great pictures, illustrations and patterns. Would definitely recommend this book for any intermediate level crocheters.
Once I figured this out, I found it is easy. I love doing this and it makes wonderfully puffy blankets. I plan to do a lot more from this book, but I'm not into the bags and things, though they also look to be pretty easy to do. I just love the finished look of this type of crochet.
I have made the afghan pattern in this book twice, both with terrific success. I fun new way to crochet but not for beginners.
